Cosmetic Surgery

Before undergoing cosmetic surgery in a private hospital you may well be required to have a check for MRSA done. In fact most private hospitals now do this as standard in order to keep control of infections on the wards.

When you have had a cosmetic surgery procedure such as a tummy tuck, faclift or breast surgery such as a breast uplift or breast reduction you can be very prone to infections.

Your cosmetic surgeon will give you antibiotics to take in your recovery period should you develop any signs of infection to help get it under control.

Because of the screening that private hospitals and cosmetic surgery clinics do it is very unlucky to get an infection following your plastic surgery.

If you think you might have an infection while your scars are healing it is important that you do not delay in letting your plastic surgeon know as delaying can result in a serious infection and complication like tissue loss.
